    The State Minister for Training and Sports activities (Sports activities), Hon. Peter Ogwang, has reaffirmed authorities’s dedication to supporting youth soccer improvement.

    Whereas addressing the Triumphant CECAFA U-17 Teen Cranes at a luncheon held on Thursday at 4 factors Sheraton in Kampala, Ogwang hailed FUFA for the continued progress in soccer improvement.

    “On behalf of the Authorities of Uganda, I congratulate you for profitable this essential competitors. Soccer improvement on this nation is on the fitting trajectory and seeing these younger gamers obtain success at this stage of their careers is a transparent indication that the long run is vivid.”

    “For a few years, collaborating in regional and worldwide competitions was a problem. Right this moment, qualifying and competing at that stage has develop into a normal expectation. We should recognize the work that has been achieved to reposition soccer in Uganda and create pathways for our younger gamers.”

    Ogwang challenged FUFA to strengthen the transition pathway between college soccer and membership soccer, significantly for women.

    “One of many key challenges is making certain these gamers proceed creating after excelling in school stage. We’d like sustainable competitions and constructions that enable them to stay aggressive whereas pursuing their training and soccer careers.”

    The Minister pledged a private money reward of Shs5 million to CECAFA U-17 MVP Shadia Nabirye

    “Now we have the event MVP right here. I’ll personally present Shs5 million from my very own pocket as a Member of Parliament and Minister. You might be the most effective property now we have to market and promote Ugandan soccer.”

    The Teen Cranes humbled Tanzania 3-0 to clinch the CECAFA U-17 Ladies’s title, in actual fact they managed 5 wins and scored 26 targets with out conceeding.
